The Sensormatic Wireless Handheld Deactivator provides convenient, accurate deactivation of AM EAS labels. Sensormatic Solutions’ ergonomically designed, lightweight, durable and easyto-use Wireless Hand-held Deactivator is especially useful in retail environments selling large, heavy, bulky items. With this device, EAS labels can be deactivated straight from the shopping trolley, eliminating the need to lift merchandise onto the checkout counter, thereby helping to reduce store assistant strain and fatigue while improving checkout throughput. For added flexibility the deactivator can be used anywhere in the store, enabling the quick opening of a checkout area wherever needed to help accommodate peak traffic periods. This deactivator detects active labels up to 15 cm (6 in), and deactivates them up to 12.7 cm (5 in) above the surface of the unit. The Wireless Hand-held Deactivator will deactivate all phases of source-tagged labels. Status indicators provide visual and audible feedback on deactivation status for greater deactivation success. This device includes a long-life rechargeable battery so that it can be used for extended periods of time during store operating hours without needing to be charged. The Wireless Hand-held Deactivator is charged when placed in its docking station. The Wireless Hand-held Deactivator can also be used for source tagging compliance audits. This device features a unique ‘search mode’ to allow verification that merchandise tagged at the source is arriving with an active label. When in ‘search mode’, the Wireless Hand-held Deactivator will not deactivate any labels. This data can be uploaded to the SMaaS analytics platform to track performance over time. Plus, deactivation data can be integrated with the SMaaS analytics platform for insights into the number of deactivations, possible internal theft activity and identification of potential employee training gaps.
